# Terrestrial Ecologist/Botanical Specialist

eNVIRO Works is seeking a qualified and experienced Terrestrial Ecologist/Botanical Specialist to join our dynamic team. This is an opportunity to work on diverse environmental projects across South Africa, contributing to sustainable development and biodiversity conservation.

## About eNVIRO Works

eNVIRO Works is an environmental consultancy specializing in ecological assessments, botanical services, and environmental impact assessments. We provide professional environmental solutions to various sectors including government, private developers, and conservation organizations.

## Key Responsibilities

* Conduct Botanical Impact Assessments for various development projects
* Perform plant species identification in diverse ecosystems
* Plan and implement Search and Rescue operations for protected plant species
* Prepare and submit relevant permit applications for plant translocation
* Contribute to the development of Botanical Offset strategies
* Assist with broader Environmental Management processes (NEMA Environmental Impact Assessments)
* Utilize GIS software for mapping, data interpretation, and analysis
* Prepare comprehensive technical reports
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams
* Liaise with clients and regulatory authorities
* Keep up-to-date with relevant environmental legislation and best practices

## Requirements

* Honours Degree or higher in Ecology, Botany, or related environmental field
* Minimum of 3 years' experience providing Botanical Specialist services
* SACNASP registration (mandatory)
* Strong understanding of South African environmental legislation
* Excellent knowledge of plant taxonomy and field identification skills
* Experience with GIS software and spatial analysis
* Proficiency in conducting ecological field surveys and assessments
* Valid driver's license
* Excellent report-writing skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
* Ability to work within a team and meet tight deadlines
* Flexible and positive attitude
* Knowledge of Botanical Offset processes (advantageous)

## Location

* Cape Town or George, Western Cape (with field work throughout South Africa)
