Manyabe Consultancy (MC) has a vacancy for a Senior Environmental Scientist to manage the Mining and Development Division. The position will be based in Boksburg, Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for management of all MC projects and liaise account clients, inter alia, management of MC project team.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the Mining and Development Division
• Oversee all MC projects and coordinate project teams
• Liaise with account clients and maintain client relationships
• Provide technical leadership for environmental projects
• Ensure project delivery within scope, time, and budget
• Manage and mentor junior environmental staff
• Conduct technical reviews of environmental reports and assessments
• Business development and client relationship management
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and standards

This is a senior leadership role requiring extensive experience in environmental consulting with a focus on mining and development projects.

Qualifications and Experience:
• A Postgraduate Degree in Environmental Sciences/Management
• Six years work experience, preferably in a consulting environment
• Excellent proficiency in English (report writing and communication)
• Professional Registration with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) and Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa (EAPASA)
• Must be excellent in proposals and reports writing
• Must be knowledgeable on all environmental legislation

Essential Requirements:
• Postgraduate qualification in Environmental Sciences or Management
• Minimum 6 years consulting experience
• Professional registration (SACNASP and EAPASA)
• Excellent English communication and report writing skills
• Strong knowledge of South African environmental legislation
• Proven track record in proposal and report writing
• Leadership and project management experience
• Client relationship management skills
