The Senior Programme Officer will play a critical role in advancing the mission of the Nature-based Solutions (NbS) Centre at IUCN. This position focuses on developing and implementing nature based solution projects, supporting policy and economic analyses, and engaging with private sector and financial institutions to scale up investment in NbS.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead policy analysis and development related to NbS, ensuring alignment with international frameworks
• Develop evidence-based policy briefs and strategic recommendations for policymakers
• Support comprehensive economic analyses to quantify socio-economic and environmental benefits of NbS
• Build strategic partnerships with private sector stakeholders and financial institutions
• Design innovative financing mechanisms and investment models for NbS
• Lead development and implementation of NbS-related projects
• Represent IUCN at high-level events and conferences

Essential Requirements:
• Advanced degree in Environmental Economics, Business Administration (MBA), or related field
• 7-10 years professional experience in environmental economics, policy development, or finance/private sector
• Proven expertise in economic and financial analyses in natural resources, climate change, or biodiversity context
• Demonstrated experience engaging with private sector actors, financial institutions, and investors
• Experience with international development organizations, NGOs, or multilateral institutions
• Familiarity with global environmental policies and frameworks relevant to NbS
• Knowledge of innovative financing mechanisms (green bonds, blended finance, carbon markets)
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with economic modeling proficiency
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Leadership and teamwork abilities with cross-functional team management experience
