Description

The Expanded Public Works Programme offers graduates employment opportunities to gain work experience in administrative and support functions for environmental programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provincial Reporting: Render support for provincial administrative and report consolidation, compile provincial advocacy reports
• Environmental Education: Compile environmental education reports, organize and distribute promotional materials
• Administrative Support: Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports, create and maintain filing systems, provide logistical support
• Meeting Coordination: Provide administrative and secretariat support for forums, meetings and committees, facilitate travel arrangements
• Financial Administration: Process S&T and kilometre claims, leave management, assist with procurement of goods and services

Monthly Stipend: R9,200
Duration: Graduate programme with work experience focus

Requirements

Essential Requirements:
• National Diploma or Degree in Public Administration/Management or related qualification
• No experience required (graduate level)
• Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations and Treasury Practice Notes
• Knowledge of administrative/clerical procedures, financial and procurement procedures
• Understanding of departmental procedures and policies
• Coordination and stakeholder management skills
• Interpersonal, organizational, facilitation and coordination skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of government planning processes
• Ability to work under pressure and with difficult people
• Responsibility, loyalty, honesty and reliability
• Ability to work long hours voluntarily and with limited supervision
• Computer literacy and Microsoft Office proficiency
